I am want to sell my multi function unit. Its a Longevity 160P. I dont use it very often except for the stick function. Welds 1/8 7018s nicely. I am out of Argon and dont want to have to get a new bottle full so anyone intersted can try it out. I have a full bottle of 75/25 for my MIG. Can I use the 75/25 to atleast show that everything is working? I know its not the ideal gas for TIG, this is just for demo purposes myabe some short welds. The 160P is an AC/DC pulse machine. I just need to be able to let an interested buyer know it all works.
Reply:Well you can certainly put that in the Ad when you list it- won't cost anythingprobably work ok on Steel but on AL will be krap.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:Thats kinda what I was thinking but have limited knowledge on the subject. I figured that someone out here would know.
Reply:C25 will "trash" your tungsten almost immediately, no matter what material you're welding.I'd say this is a case where you're better off with "no demo" than a demo with the wrong gas.Heck, 99% of the guys seriously looking at a machine like that don't have a clue about tig welding in the first place. They should be "real happy" that the lights come on on the front of the machine.Tell them if they wish to try tig, to bring their own bottle of argon.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc. |
