Hey Guys,I am having hiccups with my heat input calculations on TIG and SMAW. This are my values below:K= 0.6, U= 27, I = 170, V= 45Would like to know how I can convert my value to KJ/cm if for instance I have my answer to be 3672000?Thanks for your assistance here.Regards,Mike
Reply:Please give us the units. Also you have something completely messed up. You give a coefficient of 0.6 which is for TIG and then you mention 27 or 45volts both of which are impossible with 170 A for TIG.
Reply:U = Voltage (V)I = Current (A)V = Welding speed (mm/min) The voltage (U) is 24-27 amp and the welding speed is 45mm/min
Reply:ok man,0,6x27x170x60=165240  165240:45=3672   3672:1000=3,672 KJ/mm = 36,72 KJ/cm
Reply:Denlow60 has it.  This is what it looks like on paper for me.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
