Not really much fab work here... but thought I'd post it up in case it gives some of you guys some ideas. I needed something to block welding and grinding sparks from my work bench area, and this is what I came up with. I already had a 6x8' welding screen thing so I made it around that, centered between the ceiling and floor. There's a gap at the top and at the bottom but I think it'll still stop 99% of the sparks. I have a 6x8" welding blanket with grommets that I can hang up there as well. I started with 17' of 1/2" black pipe and made all the brackets out of 1" square tubing, 1" angle iron, 1/8" flat stock and 5/8" rod. Sorry for the poor quality pics... all I had with me was my iPod.
Reply:Pretty sweet! Only seen curtains in the schools nurses office like that before. I was expecting one of the standard free standing welding curtains. It's also a good way to screen off a section that is seldom clean!!
Reply:I like it. Wondering if you can get a close up of how you attached the curtainThe Lord has declared, "This is my work and my glory--to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" Moses 1:39Link: My name is John, and I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.-- ColdCreekWorks.com --
Reply:I'll try and get some... I'm away from home for the weekend though. The curtain has reinforced holes/grommets in it and I just bent up some hooks from 1/8" rod that hook into them and over the pipe.
Reply:I bought one of these for my 5X10 Plasma table.. I really did not what to mess with a water table at this moment, and the fans/blanket work great for smoke, and dust.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Revco-30-oz-...item335e9e91cb Attached ImagesEsab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i |
