Was looking through some job offers and found one that "requires" a familiarity with aluminum bronze tig wire. I'm guessing this is some kind of tig brazing? I'm asking if anyone has ever used it before and knows what it's used for and how it's used. Similar to welding or is there no puddling, etc.?

Reply:Treat it the same as you would stainless..No Big Deal....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I use it to weld Herculoy (a bronze alloy containing zinc and silicon) because it has a better color match than silicon bronze. I think AC makes it easier to deal with the zinc and aluminum but it's not a huge difference.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Thanks for the input guys.Especially Zap. That's the sort of answer I like to hear. It's for a shipyard... and DC current. I was just making sure it wasn't something out of my pay grade, but stainless is my AOE so I'll give them a call. Can't hurt to test.
