I’ve decided not to buy a stick welder just yet – my Harbor Freight flux core welder is due to be scrapped. I decided to replace it with a Miller 211, and I am looking forward to using a REAL MIG without all the arguing between me and that Harbor Freight welder – although, I must admit that old thing has seen me through more projects than I can remember. I’m looking forward to learn welding aluminum which brings me to my question: Years ago, I remember working with aluminum using acetylene and O2. Using the typical green goggles to see my weld worked well with steel, but with aluminum, I needed to used blue tinted goggles to see my work. Does that also apply to arc welding aluminum?
