How much do you pay for welding wire?

I buy the .030 mig steel welding wire 12lb spool at home depot for $43. I run through about 100lbs of welding wire per month.. Looking to save some $$$. I tried the lws welding wire once. Always got a better arc out of the lincoln wire from hd.I was wondering how much others pay per pound and where else to get it?

Reply:I buy the Hyundai wire and pay a little more than a buck a pound. It gets the job done for me. 0.035 solid in a 44# spool.

Reply:AKweldshop, probably there is one on EBay for $35.xx and free shipping, I'm not going to look right away but I looked it up on EBay and it came up at $32.xx so I clicked on it. Figuring that the 035 is more popular hence the free shipping or maybe because I ordered it, they decided to tack a couple of bucks on, then recently listed it.For me it was a good deal as time is one thing I don't always have a lot of!
Reply:Killerdozer, I'm going to be starting a job in South America in the next few months, just ironing out the details now, anyway the rumors are that it's supposed to be a very very lean startup.............the days of the huge budgets may be over for a while.........time will tell..........either way I'm "stockpiling" some stuff right now just in case...........
