what amperage would u suggest for 6013 6010 7018 7024 and would be hot amps for those electrodes so they won't stick on 1/4 flat barAngel
Reply:Care to tell us what size electrode? Read the packaging, it will have a range of amperages you can use.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG

Reply:First, you need to learn to "ballpark" your amperage. I mean, for a 1/8" electrode the decimal equivalent is .125. It just so happens that a 1/8" 7018 runs around 118A-130A best for me. So that is a starting point, but you have to be able to tell wether you're hot or cold during welding. A 6010 or 6011 will use less amperage, that will come with experience. Also a neat trick is to use 1/8" 6010 and 3/32" 7018, they both run great around 90A, so you don't have to keep running back to the welder."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:so heres how i run electrodes 6013 90-100amps 6010 about 60amps 7024 and 7018 120 amps now at what amps would u guy's say is hot enough so 7018 wont sick on meAngel
Reply:I don't think you read the part where members ASKED YOU what diameters of electrodes you have in the various types of electrodes you listed.Electrodes come in a wide range of sizes. The smallest is 1/16" and the largest I ever heard mention of is 3/4" diameter. It would not do much good to tell you to set your amps at about 180 if you have 1/16" electrodes.
Reply:oh im sorry its all 1/8 electrodeAngel
