I built this, this weekend for my dewalt dry cut saw. It was a pain cutting steel on an uneven floor, and holding up each side.The table is 12 feet long by 24 inches wide. The spot for the saw is 24x24 so that it can easily be clocked to make miter cuts. I originally only used 4 casters but the middle sagged so I added the 2 middle ones today, along with runners for the lower storage. I am happy I just used tube runners on the top rather then plating the whole thing. With plate I think there would be a lot of added drag. In this picture I have an end/stop fence clamped down for production runs of material. This method is about 3 times faster then cutting on the floor. All of the steel is 1.25 OD .125 wall square tube. I am pretty happy with it. I chose castors so that I can move it outside when steel gets delivered and to stow it away since I basically run 2 different business' out of the shop. I am super happy with this saw (I think its the 472? 14 inch dewalt). I had the evolution pile o @#% before, the 100 dollars more for this saw is worth its money in gold. I have easily made 800 cuts with it, and it keeps on rolling. I think the evolution barely made it through 300 on its second blade. Reply:Nice job. Working on the floor sucks, especially with an Evolution product. Those must have been dark days. With the Dewalt and rolling stand, you must be feelin pretty stoked about cutting. |
