Miller Spectrum 375 question

I am looking to purchase a Miller Spectrum 375 plasma cutter and I am a little confused by the electrical requirements. The specs say that it can run on either 120v or 240v. It doesn't have any details on what the default setup is and how you go about changing it to the other. I've talked to a couple of different people at different retailers and I'm not getting a consistant answer to this question.The answer that I seem to be getting is that it comes with a 120v plug (amperage of this plug isn't clear, but it sounds like 20 amp to me) and to convert it, you have to cut the cord and install a 240v plug. One guy says that the voltage difference only makes a slight difference in the quality of the cut, while another says that I definately want to go 240v if I want to meet the specified cut capacity of the machine.Can anyone here help clarify this matter?Thanks.
Reply:I have one, and I'm real happy with it. There's a shielded switch on the back. Just set it for 120, 0r 240. If I remember it came with a 110V 30 amp plug. I cut the original off, and put a 240v 50 amp plug to match my other welder'sYou can download the manual for the machine in "PDF" format from the Miller electric sight.
Reply:I have one, too.  It came with a 120V, 20A plug which I promptly guillotined and installed a 240V, 20A plug.  Then, I changed the switch from 120V to 240V.  I also made an adapter out of a short piece of wire so that I could plug the 240V in and it would plug into a 120V, 15A receptacle for mobile, light work (just have to remember the switch when going back and forth.)  So far, I've never needed it to run off 120V though.  And, yes, doing so will not allow you to cut as thick a material, though I've only maxed mine out a couple of times on some 1/4" Al diamondplate (on 240V.)My 375 is for sale, too.  I'm either trading up to a 2050 as my capabilites and requests expand, or getting out of the trade to donate the rest of my life to a different cause.  Either way, the 375 is for sale.  Under two years old, and only on its second set of consumables, not used very often.  E-mail me privately.
