New Chop Saw

Here it is, the object of my affection today, not Roger, he is one of my painters.Made in Taiwan too, but has the heavy duty sticker, I guess that makes a difference.Have not even tried it yet.  I am welding and cutting all weekend, so I will give it a good work out then,This is the industrial model, I think.  I had no time today to talk with the salesman.I like that I can move the fence forward to another hole.  Thought that was good. Reply:Planet X, would like to have a bandsaw especially for aluminum.  Been looking around, seems like a decent one goes for around 1000.00.  That will get you one with the coolant.Have lots of room for more equipment, just the better stuff costs so much.There's a method to the madness, disregard the method and the madness begins!!
Reply:This is the smaller of the two Kama saws I have seen on the net-check out the video . Do to its small size and what appear to be fairly rapid cuts-it certainly is a contender for the chop saws throne.Beware though I have seen an exact looking copy on Ebay-the seller was hawking a China imitation- course I lost my bid...if its cheap enough sometimes I'll play the sucker Kama bandsaw link"after a long day of doing nothing...its gooood to kick back" Pumbaa
Reply:I was picking up some material at the Metal Supermarket, they had one like that in the back shop where they do the cutting.  It looked like an old machine, but I thought it was real trick.I just seen something like that from Makita the other day, and now you have reminded me to follow up on that.  Now I can't remember where I seen it.There's a method to the madness, disregard the method and the madness begins!!

Reply:$700 would buy a 12" horizontal/vertical bandsaw.  Thats what I'm saving for.  I use one at work, and like it much better than the chop saw.  My chop saw or the two at work, don't cut square.  The cut fades to the right.  Anyone else have this problem, or am I just lame.Craig S.
Reply:Nope, its not just you.  All chop saws do this, it's just the way it is.  I live with it.  I'll get a bandsaw some day.
