HiI'm pleased with my lincoln 140c and am considering buying the lincoln 256. I've got plans for building 4 utility trailers and need something that has the ability to weld 3/8" stock. I've looked for reviews and comments from sources other than lincoln. Does anyone have any experience with this welder? At $1999 it seems like a pretty good price.
Reply:Looks like the follow-on to the 255 which is an excellent machine. We had a bunch of them and students didn't kill anything but a gun liner now and then, and that bunch would have broken an anchor chain with a feather...
Reply:The 265 is an upgrade from the 255.I have experience with the PowerMig 255 and was impressed with it's performance. I would have no worries buying a Lincoln PowerMig 256.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:welp, I pulled the trigger. Got the 256 but didn't get the "money's worth pack" or what ever they call the jacket, helmet, glove, duffle bag kit. I really only need the jacket and figure it's only a FR jacket anyway. Now the waiting begins.. won't be here till next Wed..humpfff..Oh, it was $2049 Canadian (plus tax) |
