Reply:No offense, but being able to quote, would be the first thing I'd make sure I'd have correct before going onto my own endeavors...
Reply:Yea Im jumping in head first!!!I have welded for others as a job but got my equipment set up and took a job little too soon but its only a giant Simson hanger.I can make it no problem just wanted to know if my price is high or low .16 feet of weld and some cutting ,ill learn to bid as I go but need to start somewhere!(don't worry I didn't quit my day job) Thanks Steve
Reply:A good place to start is if it's on-site, $1/mile there and back, material cost x 1.5, then $1-$2 per hole depending on size, and estimate how long it will take you (plus 10-20%) and find a good hourly rate for that estimate (at least $40/hr), then add some. You say you've welded before so you should be able to come up with a pretty good estimate for time. Don't sell yourself cheap. Remember, the time you spend driving there is time you could be spending doing work for someone else, so why should you quote any less for the drive time as you would to weld?John 3:16(2) Miller Pheonix 456(2) Millermertic 252Dynasty 210DXHobart 210MVPDoringer D350 SA Cold SawScotchman 350LT Cold SawWebb 10x50 MillWebb 15x40 LatheGeka Bendicrop Ironworker
