I need to grind some metal in a tight space, a 1/2" drill attachment (w/abrasive grinder like you see on a 4" grinder) is the only solution.Except, I don't see such a thing in hardware stores. Is there such a thing? I see those "stone" things that can be attached to a drill, but I don't know if it'll work
Reply:Sounds like you just want to attach an angle grinder type wheel to the end of a 1/2" drill? You should be able to find an arbor for your drill that you could use to screw on a standard angle grinding disk. I've done a similar thing to attach the angle grinder style flap disks to my HF air tools (not running them at full speed). Works fine for me, just had to fab a little spacer to make up for the difference between the arbor shaft and the disk hole. Be careful and keep a good grip on the tool when you run in these non-standard configurations. They usually handle differently in operation and you don't have the standard safety guards in place. Good luck.TinkerTinkerCentury 135GS, ThermalArc 250GTS
