i have a miller diversion 165 tig weldertoday i decided to weld, but arc wont start it starts up, powers on, has gas, no leaks, connections are good and tight. i cant think of anything else. the only thing that is plausible is overheating? its about 110 where i live, and im working in a garage with no ac. the fan on the welder is working and the machine doesnt feel hot, but the indicator light comes on every couple minutes.i could really use some help here
Reply:Your machine has -Fan-On-Demand™ reduces noiseand maintenance by lessening theamount of airborne contaminantspulled through the machine, whilesufficiently cooling thermallyprotected internal componentsIs the fan actually cooling the machine?Lincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age. Last count on Short Hoods was 13 in possession.
Reply:try the hand controller with the foot pedal disconected, if it starts  with hand conrol the foot pedal is the problem. hope this helps
Reply:Does the gas flow when you hit the foot pedal?  If not, try unplugging it at the welder and re-plugging it in. Also as was already suggested, try just the push button on the torch. Bill
Reply:i never got the foot pedal, so i only use the hand control. itll spark once, then nothing after and yes gas is flowing. im gonna take the hoses apart and reconnect to see if it helps. maybe theres a leak that i cant hear or see
Reply:Since you're talking about the heat in your shop being a possible cause, put it in the house overnight in the AC (hope you have AC in that heat) then hurry it out there in the morning and try it before it heats up to the outside temp?Safety 3rdGump
