Hey guys, it has been a minute since i was here. I have been welding for 22 years, and since my certs have expired, cant seem to find a decent job. While I was looking into re-certifying, and adding some new ones the thought occurred to me to look into getting my CWI Certificate. Well, I can, but it is $2250. I am also looking to get the heck out of Florida. My goal is to get out west with one of the oil/gas companies. So my question is, what are the REAL job opportunities for a CWI? Is it one of those things where if you don't have 20 years in the field experience and a Doctorate they won't talk to you? (I hold an OSHA 500 card too, but no one will hire you without a Bachelors degree, even with 10+ years construction experience). If I can actually find work, I would like to get the cert. Anyone with experience on this? Thanks in advance!emplekennyuk |
