does any one know how to wire a remote on a bobcat
Reply:Take a cables remote box, tie it to the bobcat, hook it up to an SA-200 and lower the bobcat into the hole to hold your remote.Local 597

Reply:ok citizen smith i got cabels remotes on all 3 of my lincolns , but the bobcat is different it has ac
Reply:in all seriousness though, you might be able to take a regular miller remote and splice it in behind the panel, bobcats are inverter machines so its not gonna be a rheostat type remote.... you'd need to wire a switch to cut out the dial on the panel, It might be as simple as ordering a replacement remote wiring kit for a larger engine driveLocal 597
Reply:i was thinking more like using a cabels remote not a pin plug if possible. and thanks for the reply

Reply:So you should, in theory... Be able to obtain an OEM rheostat and wire it through a DPST toggle switch and be good? Add appropriate plug, cord, and box for rheostat.
Reply:Yes.As the Bobcat's full field current runs around 7amps, conductor size and length are critical factors to minimize voltage drop out and back as mentioned before.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:i put a bobcat reostat in a miller remote box(the kind you'd use on a big 50) i ran 50 feet of 10 guage sjo wire to a hole i drilled in the right side of the machine along the black baseplate under the door,i used a 90 degree threaded electric box fitting and crimped some male spades in the conductors to slid right into the factory wires that went to the panel mount reostat.there is no need for two reostats .just an outboard one on a 50 ft cable..after your done, check the open circuit voltage, you should be ok, but duane can walk you through the procedure...you'll be happy you did it!!!go for it...(use an rhc-3, and stuff your panel reostat in that, cover the hole on the panel with a NRA sticker)face all times with a positive mental attitude, then and only then will you have done your best. |
