* Is ES70S-2 appropriate?  If so, would 1/16" be OK for 16-gauge tubing, or should I opt for the smaller .045"?* Does Solar Flux Type B work on 1010 mild steel?  I know it's intended for stainless steel, but I'm not sure if it's worth using on mild steel or not."There are two types of people in America - those who try to classify everyone into two types and those who don't."
Reply:ER70S-2 is correct. I would use 1/16th size, but it is always nice to have a choice. No, you do not need solarflux on the backside of carbon steels. The scale on the backside protects the surface long enough to get the weld done. Solar flux prevents the sugaring on stainless steel, which does not occur with carbon steels.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li  ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:Stay with the 1/16".045 will have you going very fast to keep up with it.I like fast....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Excellent info.  Thanks guys!"There are two types of people in America - those who try to classify everyone into two types and those who don't."
