If you was going to mount your bottles on rack what angle would you put them on? I plan on mounting my machine on a trailer, but dont really want my bottles straight up and down.
Reply:Acetylene has to be straight up and down. I believe a straight CO2 bottle does too. Propane depends on the type of cylinder; liquid or gas feed. All the others can be at any position. BUT, last time I checked the regs:1- DOT says that any bottles transported must be secured in place with caps or approved valve/regulator guards installed.2 - OSHA says bottles on a jobsite must be secured in an UPRIGHT orientation and secured in place. You may run into some inspectors that want a fire-rated barrier between oxygen and fuel gas tanks as well. So, depending on where you're going to work, you might reconsider whether or not your bottle rack should hold bottles vertical or horizontal.Benson's Mobile Welding - Dayton, OH metro area - AWS Certified Welding Inspector
Reply:Thanks bud. I guess the gas will have to be straight up then, at least it's short. |
