I just received my I-MIG 205 and have been working on setting it up. Attached is an initial test weld on 1/8" steel that I made with the following parameters:.030 ER70S-620 Volts235 Inches Per Minute5 Arc Force (mid-way)15 cfh 75/25 Argon/CO2 (read while not welding)From what I have read, .030 is close to it's limit with 1/8" steel. I noticed that the Everlast weld calculator doesn't list any parameters for this combination. The parameters that I settled on don't seem quite in line with the progression that it had for .030.I would welcome suggestions/feedback from anyone with experience using this (or similar) combinations. Thanks,Joe Attached ImagesLast edited by MoJo1917; 09-23-2012 at 11:12 AM.MIG and Plasma
Reply:It seems that I can get a much smoother sound/feel by turning down/off the Arc Force control. It doesn't seem to impact the results visibly. I haven't been able to find too much on this feature, has anyone out there been using it?MIG and Plasma
Reply:Your outside corner looks good. A few minor tweaks maybe. Your travel speed in the middle is just a tad too fast. The beginning and end are just a tab bit too high it seems from the picts ( might be an illusion because of the low center though and the angle). I'd probably turn down the wire just a tiny bit. Can't help you with the arc force..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Thanks DSW, that is helpful. I am still not quite there, but I have something to shoot for now.MIG and Plasma |
