Ok, so I am thinking about going solid wire/gas instead of flux core.I lost the regulator and gas hose for my Hobart in a house fire about a year ago, so I'm looking for a new one.Any "best bang for my bucks" suggestion on a regulator for a hobby welder?

Reply:Probly best to stick with a name (Victor, Harris, Smith...) because they can go south, and availability of parts becomes important. I see regulators on Craig's List all the time, so that's a spot to look. Do you have a preference for a regulator with two gauges, or a flowmeter? The other end of the spectrum is a Harbor Freight regulator for $36 at full retail, less with a coupon.Apologies in advance if you already know but: remember to switch polarity when you switch from FC to gas shielding.Last edited by asdf; 07-25-2014 at 11:47 AM.

Reply:Cope's link is what you want. I've bought 3 of them and they work fine. Great price and the flow meter is better.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
