Hi all! We've had a little time on our hands, weather being what it is,so we built this---We are not finished with it yet but we have tried a couple of things. It(no name yet) will roll 1.5x1.5x.120 and not even feel it. The Rigid pipe threader that drives it is very strong. Its 65" wide and can open to accept4" material. We built it to roll fence panels, but that wont be all it will see, I'm sure.  Anyhowz, just thought I'd share Attached Images
Reply:Must have had ALOT of spare time. There's something really great and enviable about having the skills and knowledge to make the machine/tool that you then use to make stuff with.It would be such a better feeling than buying it.
Reply:Yeah, we had a little extra time------ Attached Images
Reply:Now that's a ROLLER!!!!!!!! Forward and reverse then with that drive system. Good work. Are those rollers solid? With the snow you've got maybe you could roll skins for plow blades!!!!!
Reply:You know, it should have been obvious but I never even thought about a plow blade! Cant see the storm for all the snow,or somethin like dat......The rolls are 4" xx pipe with 1.5" cold rolled shafts.
Reply:Very Nice indeed!    Was this done off the cuff or was it engineered for specfic goals?     I especially like the idea fo using the pipe threader, if that doesn't have enough torgue you are in trouble.    More pictures would be nice if you get the time.By the way what is a fence panel?    All the fences around here are either barb wire or electric.ThanksDave
Reply:wizard, thanks. We do a lot of custom fence and wanted to be able to bend a fence section or panel to a radius. We've tried a couple of things thru it but actually had to work today so didn't mess with it........much We'll wind up putting everything but the shop sink thru it, I'm sure We did try some 1"x1"x.065 tubing and it came out pretty good. Any ideas? We are going to make some clamps or guides to keep the mat straight and we will get some gate valve type round wheels for the adjusters. Anyone?   Thanks........Tim Attached Images
Reply:HELLO TO ALL,what a novel idea to power it with a pipe threader.i have some advice. do not get your hand, or anypart of your body caught in this. it has the powerto do you some big time damage!wlbrownwright city, mo.
Reply:Beautiful job!  You're an inspiration to us dreamers out here with less time on our hands.  We did have hail that stuck for about 3 minutes a month ago, but it provided no excuses for not going to work.awright
