Saw this going up for auction at my local Air Force base.I know nothing about Milling machines and the folsk running the DRMO office know even less.   I can offer to take more pictures if it helps but that is about it.http://cgi.govliquidation.com/auctio...&convertTo=USDSteven
Reply:I also like that site.  I have been eyeing stuff on it for a while (years now) but i have never been able to bring myself to bid.  The biggest concern is shipping.  Is there anyone here that has bought stuff off governmentliquidation.com and had to use thier local shipping agents?  What did you have to do, and what were your experiences?Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:Thanks for asking the question about shipping, I have been wondering the same thing, hope somebody can fill us in.
Reply:HELLO TO ALL,it really makes me mad to see a nice machine sittingoutside in the weather, and now it is rusty!the very least someone could do is paint all those partswith some grease before they put it outside.wlbrownwright city, mo.
Reply:I asked the local folks in DROM about shipping and they have local agents that do that type stuff.   Basically you can call the place before you bid and get a list of local companies that will (3rd party) pickup/pack/ship to you for a price.   Our local one is a mail boxes etc...   I have seen what they charge over fedex to ship through them.  I can only imagine calling them to pickup and ship a Bridgeport As for the rust...   Remember to them it is only scrap metal.   I have been at the DRMO warehouse when they bring in a load of computers.  They backed the flat bed truck up and rolled them out onto the concrete floor. Mind you these were still working and good computers just a little outdated.  You know the secretaries in this Gov lab have better computers than the engineers.  But then again they are doing the important powerpoint and document editing.  Some even have dual monitors.  I can only assum that is so they can play solitare and read email at the same time.  Alas I digress..... I just got this for 75.00 (no shipping since it is on my base) .  Hopefully it will clean up and be worth it.  http://web.govliquidation.com/auctio...ctionId=776764Steven

Reply:well the auction ended.  I was hopingI could pick it up for parting out if nothing else.  Final winning bid.....  Drum Rol Please.....$7102.00Inspiring Thought for the Day:Some people are like slinkies ... Not really good for anything....but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
Reply:For 7 grand you can get a bridgeport in a lot better shape than one that has been sitting in the rain.DennisThermal Arc 185-TSWMillermatic Challenger 172VictorO/AAtlas Craftsman 12 by 24 LatheEsab PCM-875Wholesalem Tool Mill-Drill
Reply:I like that site, but have never gotten anything from it.  I did however win a truck in gsa auctions.gov   You are responsible for everything.  Meaning shipping etc.  If you make arrangments with a local company to ship it for you , you are good to go. I'm sure this site works the same.
