Has anyone used one of the Metal Devil 72 tooth or DeWalt 70 tooth steel cutting blades in a chop saw.  I have a Metal Devil in my circular saw and am impressed.  I was wondering how long the ones in the chop saw last if anyone has used one.Neil
Reply:No, but I've had a Panasonic 12 volt metal cutting saw for about 5-6 years.  It will cut 1/4" mild steel, but it goes through batteries pretty quickly.  It also gets very hot and has to cool after little use.  I would NOT recommend the 12 volt version of this tool.Panasonic has come out with 15.6 volt and 18 volt versions of the saw.  The 18 volt lists for about $600, which is an awful lot for a battery-powered tool.  I found that Ryobi sells an 18 volt wood cutting saw at Home Depot for $60 (does NOT include battery or charger).  I had a battery & charger that fit and bought the saw.  I bought a Panasonic blade on Ebay for $15, made an adaptor to convert it from a 10mm shaft to a 20mm hole, and it works pretty good.  Of course, battery life is still a problem, but I've cut 3/8" mild steel with it.  I've looked on Ebay for blades for blades to put on my chop saw, but I've not been a successful bidder yet.
