Inspired by some vintage work I saw here. The top is log cabin logs from 1847. I had them rough sawn into 2 inch planks. Base is neo- industrial inspired I beam like structures that capture the board between the legs. Ss tube lines holes bored in that cross member. Rivets in the leg members for effect. Holes for effect. Big Ss slotted screws in the top for the look. Crazy but cool I think. But maybe I'm just wierdSent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2 Attached ImagesMiller diversion 165Miller mig 211Hypertherm pm 30Milwaukee 6230 14 inch chop sawMd 45 mag drill (RIP; fell on its head)New MD 45! Reply:Considering the amount of time and money that went into making this im not surprised they charge an arm and a leg for their work. I think they sell to businesses, bars etc... I find that with my projects the first one always takes forever ... design and process changes come with subsequent pieces and there are always lots of places where speed, accuracy and neatness can be improved. The mag drill and a 2 inch annular cutter saved tons of time and made each hole perfect. If i didnt let the drill fall 5 feet to its death i could start a second one! Have to save my pennies to replace it! UG!Miller diversion 165Miller mig 211Hypertherm pm 30Milwaukee 6230 14 inch chop sawMd 45 mag drill (RIP; fell on its head)New MD 45! Reply:[email protected] you butterfly/bowtie 'key' the log slabs? If not they tend to check through in normal indoor moisture variations in most latitudes.Keys usually used in slab type 'cant' or slab cut cellulose to minimize the checking when wood is fastened to metal.Very interesting ideas, I'd consider rusting the steel to match the 'aged' wood, and all but the circumference fasteners look 'purposeful' to me.CheersKevin Morin

This is a true piece of art, a time traveler, a reminder that Elliot is a master craftsman. I will certainly be sharing this piece with all my acquaintances.
