One of my autobody students wanted to replace the radiator support on his Honda Civic. Since the part is welded in, I told him he would have to learn to do plug welds on 16 gauge before I would let him do it.He mastered the 1 G very quickly. Then I has him put his practice panels on a stand and do them vertically. Once again, no problem. I thought I would challenge him a little more and gave him one more test. If he could ace it, then I felt good about letting him fix his car.He passed it with flying colors. I think it is time to let him replace his core support.
Reply:That's is awesome but if he's picking up welding that easily ya need to send him to the welding class. Reply:He's taking welding also, but didn't have any experience on sheet metal.
Reply:It's nice to see you having him practice in a real world position, but I'm wondering if he should have been laying on his back welding above him rather than simply laying on the floor..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
