Linked below is Part 1 (of 12) of an AISC technical primer on welding & bolting, presented by Duane Miller (Lincoln Electric) and Geoff Kulak (University of Alberta). Those interested in the "why" of welding processes/design and bolted connections will find this series illuminating. Call it professional development for the welder, welder helper, fabricator, hobbyist/enthusiast, engineer, and CWI. Recommend checking out the vids. Very down to earth and practical. Parts 4 thru 6 are excellent.Frequently we all pose questions on the "why" and "how" for HAZ, joint design, and preferred welding process for shop projects or field applications. This series may shed light on your particular application at some point in time. The journey continues......"Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
