Tried welding razor blades this morning and wasn't even able to initiate the arc without burning through them. The razor blades that I had are 0.004" thick measured with a micrometer. Not sure what people normally use for this "razor blade" test.
Reply:Old Hobart TR250HF..Did tin foil with it also.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Not as good as Zaps but maybe someday.... I got a little silly with the heat and corners but they are pretty stuck together. It wasn't a syncro though. I used a Maxstar 150 (pictured in another post) If your blowing holes in the razors try putting them on some aluminium and let the rod hang off the end of the razors when you start (which I did a bad job of actually hence the crappy corners) good luck! Reply:Not the blades I was referring to. Those are utility blade, probably closer to .010" right? The blades I tried welding were shaving blades. Like these:

Reply:Sorry I misinterpreted your post. If I get my hands on some razors like that, Ill give it a try.
Reply:So i went out and bought the same blades that you guys use, and these are my results with them. One was done with a .025" filler, and the other one with a .035". The .035" was my fist try, and the .025" is my second. Synchrowave 200.035" and .025" ER70 Wire1/16" - 2% Lanthanated Tungsten Attached Images
Reply:Perhaps some inspiration?

Reply:what size tung are you using? i have a lot better luck with smaller diam stuff at low amps.
Reply:Thats cheating if you lay them flat on top of each other. It has been awhile since I tried it, I should give it a go again.Lincoln SW 175
Reply:What is so fascinating about melting two pieces of alu foil together in that video lol? That can be done with much less than a tig torch. Now a butt weld would be more impressive
Reply:Well had a chance to buy some more razor blades (pack only comes with 5 blades ... don't they know we weld these things  ) We'll the one with the thinner bead was just fusion welded. The one with the thicker one was using .025" fillerPersonally I did not think that doing them this way was any harder than doing them flat. Succeeded at first try ... I need better challenges :P Attached Images
Reply:Couple more from the inside. Attached Images
Reply:This was my second attempt at it. The hump was because I couldn't get the blades to start melting. I actually had to turn it up and restart lol. I'll get a pedal one day NickESAB CaddyTig 2200iPowermax 45MM140 (Sold)
