Reply:Actually only that one pic, the rest looks really nice I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:Thanks man I'll keep it up for sure..Yeah my stick on pipe is squigly pretty often. I focus on fusion a little too much I think.Turn 'em and Burn 'em
Reply:First picture fails the visual.........needs to be at least full the whole length, then capped no more than 1/8"----keep practicing, and remember, "practice does NOT make perfect,,,,PERFECT practice makes PERFECT"6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers
Reply:That was just the filler on that weld I was going to cap it next just happened to pull my phone out for a picture, but thanks anyhow.  And yes I always go for deliberate practice because I once read that 10,000 hours of deliberate practice, perfect practice, makes for an expert. Haha. I am one of the top students in there it seems that me and only a few guys seem to understand what heat does and how to control it, it makes me feel kinda good but I know not to let that go to head and always try to weld hotter than I think and in a harder position than I really want to.Turn 'em and Burn 'em
Reply:...One more thing, while you are starting out, try to avoid those weave beads and concentrate more on stringers.  Depending on where you go to work, you may be prohibited from doing weaves, but you will ALWAYS need to do stringers.6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers

Reply:Keep on practicing.
Reply:Been shootign down some decent welders over the last 3 weeks left and right.I'm not bagging, because quite frankly, my stick skills are limited, so take this as purely critique:The tig welds; saddle looks pretty good. I like that you are not afraid to use filler and build a real weld bead. Too many tigger's work on tiny little beads, and no matter how nice.... they will never meet the bead profile for lack of cross section.Tig pipe; final bead looks good;  try to keep more consistency in bead profiles- ie not 2 thin and 1 thick. All 3 the same- shows better consistency. The stick work looks about like a lot of mine does!!! ( I really have no room to talk, but here goes...) : Gotta work to get rid of the undercut. Not enough filler, and the beads are not really straight and full. You will be looking to be about 3/32-1/8" over the top with your fill/ cap. But, I do not see any serious porosity, so that means the feed is good, and the heat is decent. Would be able to tell more if the sample was photographed immediately after cleaning. Not bad, keep at it!!And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:Thanks guy alot these are all things I will work on..I joined this forum not long ago but from just scrolling and reading a lot I have gotten better..and ExpatWelder thanks Iv been practicing way too many weaves in that case they just seem easier to me on stick but will throw some stringers down for sure..and Ill take some more recent pics and post them as well.Turn 'em and Burn 'em
