Title says it all. I have 208v 3-phase power available. Im looking for something that can be rolled around with the tanks on the back. I'd prefer not to use a large power source with the boom wire feeders. Also looking for something that welds aluminum really well. I've been looking at the Lincoln powermig 350mp and the miller 350p. Is there anything bigger and/or better out there?John 3:16(2) Miller Pheonix 456(2) Millermertic 252Dynasty 210DXHobart 210MVPDoringer D350 SA Cold SawScotchman 350LT Cold SawWebb 10x50 MillWebb 15x40 LatheGeka Bendicrop Ironworker
Reply:Binford 6000, just ask Tim Taylor.sent while goofing off at workLong after the price is forgotten, the quality will remain. Both of my Poppy's 1954 Short Hoods -Third generation to weld with it and teaching a fourthSA 2## - Bought and sold more than I can remember or care to list, 8 in the shop right now
Reply:Looks like the biggest one Miller makes that runs on 208v 3 phase is the Invision 352.http://www.millerwelds.com/products/...ision_352_mpa/GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:That's like building a race car....How fast can you afford to goThey have some big power supplies that you can hook up to a wire feeder that feed wire from a 55 gallon drum like containerThat is for some serious production weldingOr are you looking into a regular mig machine for a shop like the 352 Gravel mentionedI ran one at the miller event and it was setup for steel and aluminum nice machine ...But just doing small stuff for demonstrationsBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me What would SATAN do ?? Reply:Invertec v350pro is 425amps.Your better off with the Powermig 350mp tho.
Reply:I've got three used XMT456 units available that have a 450A/100% duty cycle, 565A/60% duty cycle and 600A/25% duty cycle. Big enough? You'd need to add a separate wire feeder and 208V is at the bottom of their 230V (+/-10%) input voltage rating though so you may run the risk of one throwing a low input voltage code.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Well it's 240v single phase, 208v 3-phase (as opposed to 277v 3-phase). What are you asking for the xmt's?
Reply:They are nice, I have seen them in person. Forgot to mention them in my first response...GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.

Reply:Specs are +/-10% of rated voltage so -10% of 230V = 207V which is why I said low input voltage codes might result from operating at 208V. When low/high voltage outside this range is sensed the unit may not produce output.I just wanted to talk to him directly to ask a couple questions.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Lincoln Power Wave S500. 450A at 100% duty cycle on 208V 3-phase. 550A @ 40% duty cycle.A few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps |
