Anyone use the Miller Tig gloves? I ordered a pair just because I was curious.....Normally use the brown cotton gloves even though they go away fast...I like the way you can feed the filler and light weight.....they burn up pretty easy so you have to keep a bunch in stock  (Cheap)   Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
Reply:I'm a Tillman mig glove fan myself because they last much longer than the thin tig gloves.

Reply:Millers tig gloves are all I use. You can pick up a 1/16 filler rod off the floor easily. Just don't use them as work or material handling gloves because you will wear through them fast.

Reply:wow, I had been using the tillman deerskin gloves simply because thats the best I found at my LWS.  But now I see better gloves in my future, even though I don't do much welding, lol.  I just like buying tools/hardware and anything to do with it, lol.
Reply:If i buy them I get the miller gloves but I try to just get the cheep ones off the job site.

I'm willing to spend a little more on Tig gloves as they tend to last longer and feel is important. That leather pad larp mentions is great for resting/dragging your hand and over all the things fit really well. Size chart from BSX cyberweld put up was spot on.I've had quite a few moments where I've pulled a "just have to finish this bead, so clooooose" on 6061 and let things get pretty hot. On this set for half a year now and they're still holding together pretty well.Last edited by Commodore8888; 11-04-2012 at 12:01 AM.HTP Invertig 221-DV -- get's dragged everywhere.Syncro 200 -- "The Boat Anchor" at the lab.Lincoln 125 MIG
Reply:I've been considering a set of Nomex flight gloves as I can buy em off the shelf on base. I've had several pairs over the years and think have excellent dexterity and feel. I have no idea how they stack up to TIG gloves. Anyone had any experience with them?
Reply:Originally Posted by Alex22I'll second these gloves, they're pretty tough when used for general fabrication too.  Tillman's gauntlet deerskin gloves are my other go to glove for TIG.Edit:  Don't forget a TIG finger or two from Jodi~Alex

Reply:Originally Posted by larpheadI have used them before, for light duty TIG they worked good. My hands started to get warm when cranking up the amps tho. Of course I was using a air cooled torch also.
Reply:I think the Ove Glove is my choice, next trip to WalMart  I'll pick some up and report back gotta be better than the brown cotton gloves I burn up with everyday...lol  Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig RockI use miller tig gloves and tillman too, don't really care. Biggest thing is not to use them for anything else or they will get dirty which will then make your rod and nicely prepped workpiece dirty and wear out the gloves faster too. I keep pairs of cheap utility gloves all over to reduce temptation. I burn my filler down to an inch or so, only time I burn myself anymore is when I am not paying attention, tig finger just seems like added bulk/hassle to me but hey I haven't tried it either.
Reply:I worked for a company once that had this serious Anvil headed supervisor that would walk around to our work areas and bitch us out for not using all the filler rod....(One inch or less)  I would toss filler at 2 inches trying to keep my tig gloves from incinerating....I remember when he came by and watched me run some beads and then toss the 2 inch filler and knew it was coming...."Hey BC, lets use all that fillerthe boss is losing money when you throw it away "   I stopped what I was doing and looked him in the eyes and said no problem and you buy my gloves when they shrivel up from the heat OK?      he just walked away....lol  Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock

Reply:Well I admit I leave them a little longer if I am running higher amps, but for anything under 100 amps you can get in pretty close for the last couple dabs without your fingertips cooking if your carefull
Reply:I use an oveglove on my tig torch hand and a miller tig glove on my feeder hand if I'm welding anything that I need to rest my torch hand against while welding... the oveglove is great for resting on the hot welded part and the tig glove is great for feeding filler. you don't need any more feel that you can get with the oveglove for your torch hand but don't fool yourself into thinking you invincible with the oveglove, you still can burn it, just way more resistant to heat than any normal tig gloves... in a pinch you can also use a heavier mig/stick glove on your torch hand too but the oveglove holds up even better than that really...miller 330a bp TIGmiller dynasty 200DX TIGmillermatic 185 MIGthermal dynamics cutmaster 101 plasma cuttersnap-on YA5550 plasma cutterhypertherm powermax 30 plasma cutterbaileigh CS225 cold sawetc....
Reply:Wife got me a pair of BSX gloves for my b-day this year.  Really nice gloves but they run REALLY small.  She got me a pair of either XL or XXL and they are about equivalent to a large in any other glove.  FYI.

Reply:I used to use a Tillman TrueFIT 1475 on my feed hand and a thicker Tillman 1350 style glove on my torch hand. Now I generally just use Tillman 24CS gloves on both hands. I still love the TrueFIT 1470/1475's. I wore holes in the fingers of my last pair. They are fantastic in a shop where everything is hot and sharp. Just have to be careful to not let them give you a false sense of security cause then you get sloppy. I have a nice scar on the top of my left index finger to prove that. A bench grinder wheel will ALWAYS win against skin and cowhide.
Reply:Wow you can do that?  I used to do that with OA  when building motorcycle expansion chambers, but its a bit harder with tig and you can get shocked pretty good......No I'll just pass on that one filler is cheap....lol  Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock

Reply:I got some Tillman 1330 pigskin TIG gloves cheap at Bakers Gas ($6 per pair) and I really like them.
