What is volumetric inspection?
Reply:Volumetric examination would most commonly be an ultrasonic or radiograph exam. This allows the examiner to see internal flaws. Mag particle and eddy current can see some subsurface flaws but these methods do not have much penetration power and are typically refered to as surface exam falling in the same category as liquid penetrant as they are only able to identify flaws open to the surface of a material being examined.
