Reply:Thats a nice weld, how did you root it? Or did you just mig it all the way out?
Reply:Short arc mig root, welded from the outside/inside for a smooth transition and 1 fill pass, and a 2 stringer capUA local 32Team weld-coolTeam miller elite tack upMiller pro-staff
Reply:Sweet I like when I have the ability to weld the inside

Reply:No it says hardwire. Dual shield is a tubular wire. --Gol'
Reply:Ahh, got it. Looked like dual shield to me. I assume by pulsed he means pulsed spray transfer MIG right? I've never done that before, looked it up and the welds look similar to the dual shield welds I've done which look quite a bit like the ones shown in his pics.--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow

Reply:Any pics of the inside? which direction did you weld that? vertical down a quarter at a time? Even with pulse spray I can't imagine it runs very well up or overhead.
Reply:No pictures of the inside, but I back welded it, the outside was welded at 45 degrees down, and rolled the heel/throat... With hardwires a lot cleaner, not as much smoke and pretty much no slagUA local 32Team weld-coolTeam miller elite tack upMiller pro-staff |
