To whom it may concern. My name is Paul Bashkier I have a small medical repair company in Cape Town South Africa. We specialize in repairing medical instruments, as well as manufacturing specialized instrument for surgeons here in South Africa.Currently I am TIG welding and Silver soldering most of the instrument that require welding, however sometimes we need to work much finer than that.I have done a little research on the internet and there are a few options open to me.Micro TIG Welding, Micro Plasma Welding and Laser Welding. However these machines are very expensive. Therefore I will only be able to buy one of them and Laser is probably out of the question.I do not have any experience in this sort of machinery, therefore I was hoping that you could advise me what the best machinery is and who I might contact to get a quote on such a machine.Thanking you for your time,Kind regardsPaul [email protected]
Reply:Hi Paul.., you can log on to: www.usmwa.com (United States Micro Welding Association) and look around. They have power supplies, microscope stations, etc. I made my own boom stand for my microscope and if you're interested, I can post pics for you. How low will your Tig welder go? If it will go low, just using the microscope to see is a big help! Smaller tungsten, and filler wire. If you won't be using it often, making your own setup will be a lot less expensive!--------------john |
