I've been using my 'good' 2 wheel dolly (aluminum Magliner) for years now to haul around my tanks.  They were ratchet strapped to the dolly, and my hoses were just wrapped around the whole setup.  Well, HF had a sale on their 700lb dolly for $40.  I jumped on it and rounded up some scrap and whipped this up.  The little box I put on it is actually what some impact sockets came in.  It holds my igniter, tip cleaners, wrenches, pliers, spare tips...but unfortunately, it is too shallow to hold my shaded glasses.  Oh well.  I used some large hose clamps to secure the bottles to the frame of the cart.  Rock solid. Reply:You did a nice job on that. Those are nice dollies for the money. I've gotten a lot of use out of mine including moving my cylinders around on numerous occasions. The only down side to them is the wheels don't hold up well. I've had to replace both sides because the cheap steel centers broke out at the hubs and they wobbled like crazy after a short while..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:The metal fatigued right where the plate meets the hub at the crappy welds. I was able to originally get some of the wobble out of the wheels by undoing the nuts and bolts and getting the wheel realigned better. The 1st one went after a few weeks, the 2nd finally gave out this winter. However I do use that handtruck a lot to move appliances, furniture and boxes when I've helped  a couple friends move. Bouncing up and down stairs and going sideways across hills in yards probably doesn't help all that much. Overall I'd buy another one without any hesitation ( something I generally don't say about stuff from HF). I couldn't build the frame let alone buy cheap wheels for what I paid for mine on sale. Originally it was just supposed to be a "temporary" one time use type tool to help a friend move with my truck before it got relegated to cart status so I could reclaim my other hand truck. In the end it's actually turned out to be better in many ways than the more expensive hand truck I already had. I really need to make time to fix the broken wheels so I can slap them on the solid wheel hand truck that is still sitting at the shop with busted wheels that was my 1st OA cart..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Nice job! Is your tool box fixed to the cart? I built a cart years ago with a small toolbox like this, works out great for tips striker goggles etc, make sure you can open the lid with it fixed, mine is held on with two pins...
Reply:Nicely done well thought out.Magazines have issues, everything else has problems
Reply:I've got the same dolly and have had it for about three yrs now. I've used it for regular moving, as well as lifting and loading 2-3man rock into my trailer. it did fine until I started trucking 300-400 lb rocks side hill to get to the trailer ramp. then it got a little wobble. but really not to concerned about it. as a whole, it's been a great hand truck and I will get another one eventually. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
