just assuming you had a sound, clean pipe weld... clean enough to pass x-ray anyway but failed a macro test.... what would be the more common reasons for this to happen?would exceeding interpass temperature cause this to happen? (by exceed I mean continuously welding as if there was no interpass temp, cooking the metal, etc)or are there other reasons?ty in advance for any information
Reply:Undercut, incomplete fusion, cracks, porosity, undersize, de-lamination of the metal. Basically visual and dimensional criteria.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
