Hi all...... My boy has an 8N tractor with a bucket... Anyone made a set of forks to clamp on the bucket? Or maybe have a link to a sey of drawing ?? I am thinking of 4" X 2" channel iron for a start... Thanks,John

Reply:I made a set of forks for my mini-skid-steer a few years ago. I found someone selling just the forks online -- in fact, I see very similar forks here, on ebay:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Caterpillar-...item2578c4da7aAnyway, I like that they are traditional profile forks: that is, they come to a point. Very often, the loads I lift aren't going to accept a 4" x 2" tube... I decided against bucket clamp-ons, and just made a separate set of forks, since I was sure I would destroy my bucket by trying to lift too much. Anyway, that was my thinking. Now they're sitting there while the skid steer is up on blocks, awaiting attention... |
