I work at a pawn shop part time, and consequently can score some pretty good deals occasionally. I've had my eye on this one for a while, and we finally put it up for sale when the guy forfeited on it. It's a Hobart Handler 125EZ. I paid $100 out the door for it. I feel like that is a fair price. It's flux core only, but honestly, I'm only going to use it for thin stuff like brackets or sheet metals anyway. I've a Lincoln 225/125 for bigger stuff, and a WeldTec scratch start TIG setup too for it too. Anyway, just wanted verification I did ok before I bragged too much to the wife.
Reply:I've got a friend who knows everything about this kinda stuff, let me give him a call.(Sorry, pawn stars humor lol)
Reply:Trying not to sound like a jerk, but why do you need people online to tell you if you got a good deal or not? If you work at a pawn shop, you must know how to research the value of things, no?Five second search on ebay shows that a handful of 125EZ units have sold recently, and all for more than $250 (http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?_saca...H_Sold=1&rt=nc)You paid $100 for something you could likely sell for $250 on eBay right now. Is that not good enough for the wife?

Reply:Sheet metal with FC only is a bit tough depending on thickness. For $100 you probably didn't go wrong, but you might want to keep an eye out for a mig with gas for sheet metal..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
