I noticed back in school when using .035 hardwire, the wire speed had to be up around 400-600 depending on metal thickness. Now that I've had some time in the field I'm currently using .045 hardwire, and my settings are usually between 20V/250WS-27V-350WS. Nothing really higher than 350WS. Is this because of the bigger wire that the wire speed doesn't need to as high as when using a thinner wire? In school I was using an XMT 350, now I'm using an older Invertec machine, I think 350 Pro.
Reply:Anybody?
Reply:There's more mass in an inch of.045 than .035 so less wire speed I'd needed for the same voltage. |
