Reply:Mario,Your composition, craftsmanship, creative use of material and attention to detail are stunning. Besides, it looks great. It's almost alive. The archer in your first post would look good with nothing more than a clear coat to prevent rust."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welderOriginally Posted by OldendumThe archer in your first post would look good with nothing more than a clear coat to prevent rust.

Reply:Ironheart, I am curious where do you get the quality items for your creations? Do you have minion collectors? Beautiful work.
Reply:Oops sorry did not read previous post thoroughly. Wonder if clear coat powder coat would work. Do you use stainless rod for the anti rust or adhesion to dissimilar metals?
Reply:Ironheart, have you tried boiled linseed oil(BLO)? Another product I would try is Penetrol made by Flood. The last works well on my outdoor tools. It is a paint conditioner, but also doubles as a rust inhibitor.
Reply:Mario, after you've prepped your art the way you want it for clear coat and degreased it.......heat the part up in a box with a space heater.......over 100 F degrees...pull it out, do a quik blow-off and then dust clear then medium coat of clear so it will flash fasttttt. I have to do this over very expensive harley and chopper parts that get clearcoated over ground metal FX all the time....this is the only way they wont rust underneath the clear thermal arc 252i - millermatic 350P - miller XMT, cp300ts, 30a 22a feeders, buttload of other millers, handfull of lincolns, couple of esabs - Hypertherm 1250 G3
Reply:He's right!!! I have a custom Harley with not only chrome and custom paint, it has lots of polished small parts (stickler for perfection) and it's the only way to prevent undercoat rust.
