I'm building a dumpster enclosure. Each frame is 71 & 5/16" wide by 57" tall. 2" angle iron 3/16" thick. The first frame I migged the second i tigged, figured might as well for more practice. Anyhow on to my weld. I cleaned the metal to shiny and put a bevel. Used 3/32 red band tungsten, 1/8 er70 filler, #5 gas lens cup, 10 cfh argon, 150 amps. Thank you all for the help.
Reply:Go to a smaller filler. 1/8 rod is a bit big. Weld the other side for strength. That is what I would do.But otherwise, me like.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:Inconsistent leg lengths. Lack of fusion at the begining of weld. I cant spot any other discontinuities from the pic. It would get an 80 where I got to school
Reply:Did you actually grind through the scale or just polish it with a tiger paw?
Reply:Looks to me bud, too hot, too fast and too much torch angle. Keep at it youll get it. Get that scale off 100% as wellI hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys |
