Another Shop Stool thread..........

I saw the thread about shop stools..... and instead of hijacking it....... I'm making my own.......The IKEA wooden thing I have been using for the last couple years is about done in this world........ and that stool thread made me think about doing my own stool.......Made from left overs from other projects........The tube is left over from the Kayak trailer build....... the 3/4" round are from the axles in trash cans...... the wood top is out of a dumpster at Container Store.........TIG welded with 3/32 2% Lanthanated....... 3/32 filler....... 200 lbs used from the tank........I accidentally deleted a bunch of pics so no close up of the welds.....oops.......Here are the pics I managed to not lose...... Reply:That thread is called "mechanics stool"........ Just a short thread that gave me the idea........ (I have very few of my own)......The tube is 1.5" ...... 12 gauge........Funny thing about that metal is that it came off my buddies kayak trailer....... Whoever had welded it up when he brought it to me used stainless wire in a MIG and there was no penetration anywhere.......
