Miller econo twin welder, 150 amps, arc welder ,220 volts in put, tig welder in one, will weld aluminum, steel, stainless steel, comes with scratch start torch and gas regulater, ground wire, good cond, no co2 tank,,, that sound good??If the conversation isn’t money, then I’ll see you later.
Reply:You're short a foot pedal and you'll want argon, not co2.The only knock I've heard on these capacity wise is generally under powered, particularly with AL, similar to the current Diversion series. Don't know about reliability, parts, etc. I could be confusing it with the Econotig. The more experienced here may add more. If the price is right and it suits your needs and is in good shape, you can't go wrong with those blue machines.I would buy the right one at the right price as an upgrade over what I have, but would probably hold out for the right 320 or 330 ab/p (if I could move that beast) or preferably, synchro 180 or 200.Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 and WP17. 75A AC is for pipe thawing!HH 140 - new addtion 9/2012.I didn't agree, but hoped for Hope and Change.I got change for myself and my family: for the worse. This is the reality of: Barackalypse Now. Reply:i can get it all for 300 bucks, just need to weld sched.40 tubing with o.d 540 1/4 pipe and aluminum nothing big but thin.If the conversation isn’t money, then I’ll see you later.
Reply:I had one, good machine just no foot pedal option, other than that I really had no complaints on the machine. 300 is a good price. I sold mine for 600.ESAB MigMaster 275Miller Econotwin HFMiller Syncrowave 250
Reply:The Econo Twin, or the Econo Twin HF? There is a difference. Since you say "scratch start, I'm wondering if this isn't the Econo Twin that someone decided to add a tig torch to. You will need the HF model if you want any chance of doing alum. Also I'm not 100% sure if the remote for this unit adjusts the amps or not. I'm pretty sure it's a manual crank to adjust the transformer. I know they list a remote on/off for the torch. Some of the older tigs didn't have remote amperage control, only an on/off. If this is the case even with HF it will be tough to do alum.I'd definitely want more info on the machine, and would want to see it used on alum if that is your plan. $300 for an AC/DC stick machine is decent, but if it's what I think it is, I wouldn't want it to do alum tig..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:That's not the Econo Twin HF model since I don't see the contactor plug or the HF switch at the bottom. It looks like a very clean machine, but with out HF, alum isn't really an option as far as tig is concerned. Adding an HF box to that won't be cheap, and by the time you are done, you could have simply gotten a dedicated AC/DC tig,http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o302j_mil.pdfThere's a Hobart Tigmate listed from the 6th that would be a better option. He's high at $1000 though in my opinion. I'd say it's an $700-800 machine tops.http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/tls/3525999882.htmlThere's also a Diversion 165 listed, but it's also way over priced.I'm betting if you search farther out you can find a better unit. Maybe not that cheap, but one that will at least take a remote and have HF so you can do alum..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:i emailed the guy on the hobart he wont budge, onyl reason im looking so cheap is cause money isnt always there, winters here, im just looking to learn so i can move south, aluminum isnt really needed, i could get a idialarc down the road just need something for now that can do sched.40 1/4 tubingIf the conversation isn’t money, then I’ll see you later.
Reply:Pass on that.  If you wait, the machines on CL will come down to what they're worth.   That firm Hobart guy will soften if he really wants to sell that machine.  If you're willing to drive, Long Island, NYC and New Jersey CLs all have dialarcs in the $500 range.   There was recently one for sale in Huntington with the entire TIG setup and many extras for $800.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
