I'm feeling good about my latest acquisition.  I just took delivery on a one-year old Miller Synchrowave 200. I hadn't intended to buy one just yet but I visited a Miller welding repair station in Sacramento this week and spotted it. It was from an estate sale and it's in perfect working condition. It's still a bright, shiny blue and has all of the bells and whistles that a hobby welder like me could ever want - Like square-wave balance, pulse, TIG/STICK and arc Dig features. It also has close to two years of the three warranty left and the fellow I got it from does any warranty repairs for Miller if needed. The dealer also took my 250/250 Lincoln TIG Stick in trade and gave me a fair price for it since it also looked like new. Best of all the dealer delivered the Miller and picked up the Lincoln. How nice is that? So I guess you could say I'm running both blue and red now since my other machine is a Lincoln SP175 Plus MIG. I'll let you all know how it works in the coming weeks. I kept my home-brewed water cooler from the Lincoln and I have yet to make a cart for that and get the fittings for my Weldcraft water-cooled torch before I do much welding. Tha Miller came with an air-cooled torch but I prefer the water-cooled version. The dealer is going to provide the water-cooling fittings for me on Monday. Wish me luck!         Last edited by gnm109; 08-17-2007 at 01:20 PM.Miller Millermatic 252Miller Syncrowave 200Liincoln AC-DC 225Victor O-A Set
Reply:Congrats on your new toy!!!Ideas Without Action are Folly
Reply:the welding gods are smiling at you!!!
Reply:good on ya.  i almost bought one myself, but had to settle on a thermal arc 185. enjoy your new toy.
Reply:Now all I have to do is get a bunch of dimes to study the size and arrangement.....hahahahha. I also have to save up for more argon.......... unless Airgas lowers their prices. That will, I understand, happen soon after pigs fly. LOLI do think I was lucky in that the dealer is a nice fellow and didn't ht me too awfully hard on the exchange. I also just happened to turn up the very week that the machine was brought in and he assured me that he had tested it completely and that all functions are good to go. He's also not a straight showroom-type dealer but rather operates a busy certified repair station for Miller and Lincoln and he buys and sells used equipment from time to time. I will sort of miss the old Lincoln after using it on literally hundreds of of motorcycle and car fabrication projects since 1994 but time marches on. The Lincoln did serve me well, however and I will remember it fondly.I only hope I can learn all of the functioins on the Miller. The manual is suspiciously complex-looking. Ha. Reply:Forget DIMES lol especially the 1969 onesBe a "nickle" manAnd be a "Rock Star" ........there is a pun in there;however, some may catch it.  Tha rock star joke   anyway the Canadians will get it. weld it like you own it
Reply:Well, about the pigs flyin', it might actually happen. Airgas bought National Welders Supply 6 weeks ago and now the rumor is that Linde might buy Airgas if they can get federal approval for not violating any anti-trust/monopoly laws.
Reply:Airgas has been majority owner of National Welders Supply since the Mid 90s. Linde no longer exits in the US,.....Airgas now ons the whole show. Guess the pigs are still wallering in the mud eh?
