Have any of y'all ever built a plate roller or know someone who has?  I'd like to be able to bend 1/4" thick stuff at the max.  Most of the stuff I'd be bending would be CS or SS or AL about 1/8" - 3/16" thick.  It will need to be able to handle a full sheet of 48" X 96" material.  I'd like to build a few tanks to use as sprayers behind my tractors and then maybe build myself a 1000 gallon holding tank for biodiesel here on my farm.  Any suggestions or ideas?
Reply:All you would need is 3 rollers what ever length you want. Mount two  side by side then mount the other directly above them, with the abillity to have it slide up and down. Add a couple hydraulic jacks pushing down and you should be good to go. Thats the basic idea I guess. Its the same idea as a ring roller, but on steroids!
Reply:I have built a couple. I just a few months ago, built one for a friend who has a contract rolling screens for a customer.  They aren't that complicated, but be prepared to spend some cash.  To bend 1/4" material is gonna take some pretty heavy shaft.  For a 4ft wide roller then a minimum of 5" shafts, and to do a 8ft roller then I believe it will take a 10" or better shaft which is not gonna be cheap.  Especially just to roll a few tanks.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:Check ebay.I picked mine up the and in the process of making it hydraulic drive.Brett B & B Fabrication and Welding Inc.Spalding, MI.
