I am actually trying to find some info for a friend of mine on the value (if any) of a cutting torch from the '40's. may not be worth the metal it's made from, might be worth a few thousand. i dont think he wants to sell it, just more interested in finding out what he has. I dont know a lot abut this, just helping him out since he is not that computer savy. Thanks again! email with any additional questions or info
Reply:oops.. sorry for the spelling error on OxyAcetylene.
Reply:Let me get out my red pen, mister!Seriously, there might be some value to it as an antique, but probably not a bunch. You can get old torches on ebay pretty often for about $25-$50. These are tools that some folks still use daily (with new safty features added, hopefully). Until last year, I used a 40 year old craftsman torch. If they start getting too valuable, you will see a bunch of older weldors putting their spare equipment up for sale and flood the market. My guess is that you would just have to find the right person or group of folks, collectors not weldors. But, that's just a guess.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'. |
