Reply:I made a cover for my crawl space access it was about 3x4 rectangle shaped   out of 1 1/2 angle and expanded steel it works pretty good you can drive a lawnmower over it . are you talking about something half moon shaped or what  ?good luck Chris

Reply:I did a large oval shaped one years ago using bridge grating. It was for a patio and the home owner wanted to keep the window, but didn't want to loose the patio space. Sorry I don't have the picts of it anymore. I actually fabbed up both the grate and the recessed angle iron frame that we attached to the forms so everything matched perfectly..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:How did you look for them, I did a search cause I did not know what you were talking about, saw a bunch of different examples. Might I suggest that you put in the word Window Well Grates and then click the word images then  search. Reply:Is that for an egress window well? I made a few for a builder. Steel is less expensive, but I doubt a teenage babysitter could lift it out in case of fire. Most homeowners opted for aluminum. If this sounds like what you need, I could try posting a couple pics.
Reply:I met with the customer and took a few measurements of the job yesterday.  Its a old farm house there re-doing.  Nothing is square with these window wells.....  A few pics.(46 1/2" X 29 7/8")And here's the squirelly one...(43" along the house behind the slab by 32 1/8")  once again not square.  About 5/8" off.Its almost like when the patio slab was poured they made a form that went over the window well.....Some Blue , Some Red & Some GreyProverbs 16:2-3.2 "All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."
Reply:my teacher just made a couple, he took some 2" rectangle steel tube cut to the window size and threw some 45 degree angles on it tacked and welded the frame, then placed the frame on some pieces of 1/4plate steel- for spacing, then used some different sized pieces of steel rod and filled in the middle of the frame in a abstract artistic fashion and welded all those piece's together and to the frame front/back then primered and painted- kinda looked like this  but more random triangles/shapesLast edited by Osirus; 05-11-2013 at 06:25 PM.
