I picked up a new Lincoln Squarewave 175,(Tig & stick) yesterday and was surprised the box with the tig torch and foot control were marked ESAB. Man, it's been over 30 years since I've tigged!,(my shop mostly does ms repair and forged iron work),not used to working with clean stuff, haha!I love this machine, the stick works so smooth, the tig is very forgiving,(all this and we're'Blue' folks normally around here)Brian

Reply:Was melting some aluminum with my SW175 just yesterday. 1/4 inch aluminum though the actual pieces weren't that large and it proved itself by melting right through one piece when I got a bit lax on backing off the pedal. You might want to consider upgrading from the 9 series torch if you are going to do a lot of TIG on the top end of the machine's range.Congrats on the new machine. It's liked so well, that Lincoln just re-introduced it a few years ago.PapaLincoln Idealarc 250 (circa 1962)Lincoln Weldpak 155 w/Mig KitLincoln Squarewave TIG 175 |
