So  I have a thread going in the Miller section about finding and setting up a Syncrowave 250.  I did a small run one winter for a friend on SS tig, small non strucural parts.  That's all the welding experience I have.  Some cheesy 110 volt mig stuff, but nothing fancy. So thanks to all that helped in that thread, and here are the first pics of sticking some aluminum together.  It's a removable gate for a bucket truck where ground protection mats, or anything for that matter is stored on the flat deck.Ran out of gas but this is how far I got.  Need practice but tell me what you think.Material is 1.25 tube, and .625 round bar.  200 amps with pedal, 15-17 cfm, 3/32 red and 3/32 4043 filler.  Wire brushed and acetone. Reply:Not too shabby!  Pretty nice, in fact! See that little crater at the end of the bead?  Run the filler around in the puddle a bit longer right there before you lift off the torch and cut the pedal.I know, I can't do it because: A) I don't have a TIG machine and B) no practice because of A.  But I have been to enough of Zapster's clinics I can see the symptom and know what the cure is!Keep up the good work!- MondoMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
Reply:Gotta find a way to bend 90s on the handles, but it works so far. Attached Images
