i think im going to build a bed frame for my house, i figure with 3 20" rectangle stainless tube will be ample- i did the math and it came to 59inches-I will fab up a bed queen bed 60"/82 base with 6" legs, 33" head board and 23" foot board, the will include a couple supporting beams and have some ectra inches for artistic flare. i figure some simple 45 degree angles, tack the chit out of it and polish, im sure i can do it for under 200.00, i might be able to piggyback my order with my schools, I figure after i get the pieces fitup maybe a half a day to cut all the 45" and the other half to tack the foot/ head board pieces then bring home and finish welding, Just gotta wail till i get some extra funds. then maybe try and find some different types of inserts for the spaces in the headboard.on a side note i have only to finish my open gap overhead to finish my level 1 SMAW class and move on to flux.
Reply:you'll want to keep the headboard and footboard detachable. Welding the whole thing up solid will make moving the whole thing a pain. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:i figured id just mock up some L brackets by cutting a couple of small pieces of the rectangle tube then cut those pieces diagonally and drill some holes in the rectangle tube and the L's and either bolt or cotter pin.
