Reply:One of the former students at the tech school brought one in one night to show off his new "toys" and get some tips on running his new machine. I found the wireless remote interesting and I guess I can see a use for it in industry under certain circumstances, but I don't personally see a huge advantage to one less wire.If I had to work a long distance from the machine, I think I'd just bundle my pedal cable together with my torch lead/ water lines into one compact package as long as the proximity to the lead didn't cause any interference and leave say 8-10' of cable loose at the torch so I can position the pedal where I need it..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:They upgraded me from a wired foot pedal to a wirelss on my miller dynasty 200dx at work.  I move back and forth 15 feet from a tacking to welding station. The wireless pedal is just plain awesome. It may sound kinda dumb to someone who hasn't used one, but it really is a pleasure to work with and really I'd hate to have to go back.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:Best money I ever spent on my 200dx. Wether at the table or laying on my back inside a racecar it was money well spent for me.It is soo nice being able to just basically throw the pedal where ever you need it with NO cable. Had it for about a year and not one problem.
Reply:Can't see the benefits,  unless you have a fear of cables. Its still awkward as hell to use unless you are sat at a bench. Now if they hand a wireless one you could stick in your mouth, or a wireless torch, I might get interested

Reply:I talked with John Marcella awhile back and he loves his cordless foot pedal......Kinda wish I had bought one now but since I sit at the table 99 % of the time it will have to wait .........  Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock

Reply:The wireless foot control is a standard miller foot control case with different insides.
Reply:It seems way too overpriced for me.I'm still suprised someone hasn't opened one and copied it or made an upgrade kit for a regular wired pedal.I'd love one, but I could get another stick welder for the price of it.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum

Reply:We got one with our new Syncro 250 DX.I love it!!  I can roll around on my favorite rollaround seat and just stuff it under the seat when I move, no cables except the torch.  I even layed it up on the race car chassis and stuffed my 71 yr old body upside down and used it.  I can use it anywhere...standing on a ladder, laying on a creeper,.. it is the coolest thing ever. Now it does have one annoying problem,  every once in a while it simply will not start the process.....just dead.  I put new batteries in it and still won't start.  then sudenly it works great.   the weld shop gave us another new one and the same thing.  Still having occasional problems. It very linear but somewhat different than the old foot pedal and even different than my own Lincoln....it is still a cool piece.
Reply:When using a wireless remote and it acts up. Go check the green light on the receiver. It must be on. solid green indicates the unit has power and the remote control is a sleep.Tap the remote control to wake it up. The green light should now be flashing. If it doesn't start flashing right away. The batteries might be dead or something is interfering with the units and blocking the signal. Put them close together and retest.Try new batteries before sending it in for repair. The batteries need to be between 3.5 volts and 4.8 volts for the remote to be able to operate.
Reply:Thanks for the note.  I'll have to check it out.  When I have had problems it find that if I turn the welder off and on it usually resets and runs fine.

Reply:We have 12 wireless pedals in my shop, they are all about 8-12 feet away from each other, never any problems with them, only when the batteries get low, you gotta tap the pedal once or twice to get it to kick in. I LOVE my wireless pedal, very handy. We use 1000lbs+ tools on metal casters, so running over a cable would be easy to do. They are expensive, but they work great. When I get my Dynasty for home, I will definitely be getting the wireless pedal too. Batteries last a very long time too, we replace ours about once a year, and that's with a morning shift and swing shift using it. I highly recommend it if you can spare the extra coin and don't just sit at a bench to weld.
Reply:missfireA remote TIG pedal has been at the top of my 'fantasy innovation'tool list for 15 years.I've been TIG welding for 25 years, but it took 10 years to get good. When I got good, I gave up, stick and wire on mild-steel [black-iron],and developed efficient techniques to TIG almost anything steel in a market where the standard is Stick/Wire.The benefit  -  with TIG you can control the size/contour of the bead, and virtually produce, invisible welds.  When the client reviews samplesof stick, wire, and TIG, TIG rarely looses out.  This is how you poachprojects.  30 foot long constructs are not unusual, all TIGed in mild steel. The Pedal  -  If not for color: I would have a minimum of two pedals now,and soon there after, two more; all with stirrups, so you can 'lift and place' not 'kick or have to pick-up'.   When I began welding there were only two 'real' welding outlets in my neighborhood  -  Blue and Red.   Both: reliable, ethical, and personable, their business models survive to this day.  Its pleasurable/effortless to deal with all of the major welding outlets in my market region [Intermountain West].  I'm sorry so many of you have problems/issues with your outlets.      To redirect   -   This is my heart-burn.  Decades Ago: To keep the peace, actually playing one against another,I went Blue for wire, and Red for TIG, thus maintaining a modicum of favor in both camp.Well here we are, and my 'fantasy upgrade' is the wrong color.  "Abe", if you are listening   -   emancipate the Red-foot.Missfire   -   The 'remote pedal' testimonials sound positive by actual users.  From my perspective, I would not purchase this machine without this feature.  Miller is the 'first in the market' with this 'trick pony'.  They will support anyproblems that may arise in early production units to defend their innovation.Opus
Reply:we made a little "mini-creeper" for our wireless pedal so you can push it around the benches. prevents damage to housing from kicking it around.

Reply:I love my wireless pedal. Only complaint I have with it is that it won't work on all of my blue machines. Some are older and not compatible.
